My academic background includes an undergraduate degree from DePaul University in English Literature and a graduate degree from Saint Joseph's University. On the heels of working at an after-school tutoring program coordinator in Ohio, I went to work in Newark, New Jersey, as a high school teacher. My commitment to education comes from all the roles I fill - those of teacher, tutor, and mother. In my tutoring experience, I get the greatest satisfaction in offering assistance with writing, English, and literature. Without question, the higher the relevancy the material has for the student, the more they will engage and, subsequently, the more they will learn. My tutoring lessons are designed to meet the learning objectives of each particular student. Other areas I can tutor are grammar and mechanics, college essays, public speaking, introduction to fiction, introduction to poetry, persuasive writing, and literary analysis. When I am not teaching or tutoring, I like to farm, cook, practice meditation, and create self-expressive objects through wood burning art and bonsai. I currently reside in Finesville, New Jersey.
